Soup Kitchen:

Five times a week free, healthy meals are served to people in need. Our numbers have substantially grown since our inception. Last year we served 12,800 meals. Every Thursday, free bread is dispensed to nourish needy families. Our soup kitchen is a free service that is run buy volunteers and your donations. We have found the need, right here in our community, to be considerable. The Soup Kitchen is a huge benefit to residents of Hudson and Columbia County .

Stuff a Bus:

This fundraiser was created to benefit local school children in Columbia County that could not afford to fulfill the list of required school supplies. The Salvation Army set up a bus, manned by volunteers, for two weekends this August to stuff a bus full of school supplies for these children in need. By September there were 75 to 100 children that will be able to attend school with new backpacks, books, pencils etc.

Thanksgiving Dinner:

Every Thanksgiving we distribute complete turkey dinners to hundreds of families in Columbia County , giving the gift of nourishment, and respectability.
In 2005 we distributed 350 baskets including a turkey and all the groceries necessary for a complete Thanksgiving meal. In addition the soup kitchen also hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner which supplied an additional 100 people with a hot meal.

Joyful Christmas:

At Christmas the Salvation Army is there with food and presents to see that no one is left out of the season of giving. Meals were provided to 250 families in need along with gifts and toys for those families that are less fortunate than others.

Disaster Relief:

Whenever and wherever disaster strikes; the Salvation Army is there with food, clothing, counseling and financial support.

Camp Long Point:

This summer 25 local young people will experience the joy of attaining an unthinkable dream; the chance to attend Summer Camp, all because of the Salvation Army. These children are sent by the Salvation Army's Hudson branch thanks to a number of sponsorships and various fundraisers. These are children that would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend such camps. A donation from you or your organization will change a life forever.

Education:

Sewing Classes:

We hope to offer Sewing classes beginning this spring at the Hudson Youth Center. These classes provide useful and productive skills to many who may benefit from acquiring these skills.
